Groot ID

Terms of Service

Last updated 9 October 2026

The short version: be honest about yourself, keep your account to yourself, play fair, be kind to other players, and trade game currency for money only on Groot Swap, where we hold it in escrow. The rest explains the details.

1. These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Groot Games ("we", "us") about using Groot ID, groot.games and our games. By creating a Groot ID or playing, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your information. A game can have extra rules of its own, shown in the game or on its site; they add to these.

If you are under 13, a parent or guardian must approve your Groot ID and agree to these terms for you, and they are responsible for how you use it. If you are older but not yet an adult where you live, please read these terms with a parent.

2. Your Groot ID

  • Give true information when you sign up, including your month and year of birth.
  • One Groot ID is for one person. Keep your password to yourself, and do not sell, lend or share your account. You are responsible for what is done with it.
  • Choose a handle and display name that are not offensive, do not pretend to be someone else, and do not contain your real full name or contact details.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

3. Playing fair and being kind

When you use Groot ID or play our games, do not:

  • cheat: use bots, macros, modified game files, hacks, or bugs you found instead of reporting them;
  • try to break into accounts, our servers or anti-cheat, overload them, or get around a ban;
  • harass, threaten, bully or hate on anyone, or post sexual, violent or illegal content;
  • ask other players, especially children, for personal information, photos or to meet, or share your own or anyone else's;
  • scam other players, spam, or advertise;
  • buy or sell accounts or items for real money, or game currencies anywhere but Groot Swap, unless a game itself offers it.

Report anyone breaking these rules from the game or through support.

4. What you write and make

Your chat messages, names, reports and tickets stay yours, but you are responsible for them, and you allow us to store and show them so the games and support work. We can remove anything that breaks these terms.

5. Game items, currencies and CELL

Characters, items and in-game currencies are part of the game, not property or money: we do not buy them back or pay out money for them, and we may change, rebalance or reset them as the games develop, especially during a beta. Players can trade some game currencies with each other on Groot Swap; what they fetch there is whatever two players agree, and that can fall to nothing.

CELL is a utility token on the QSDM network that some of our games reward weekly to players 13 and over who link a wallet. It is not an investment, carries no promise of value and is not a share in Groot Games. The rules for earning it are on the CELL page and can change or end. You alone control your wallet: we never ask for its private key or recovery words, and we cannot recover a wallet you lose.

6. Groot Swap

On Groot Swap, players trade game currencies with each other, for CELL or for money. Before your first trade you accept its trading rules; these are the main ones.

  • You must be 18 or older, with a confirmed email address and 2-step sign-in. A child's Groot ID cannot trade.
  • We are the escrow, not a side in your trade. We hold an order's game currency and CELL until both traders have done their part. We never hold money: a buyer pays the seller directly, with the seller's own payment method, and that payment is between the two of them and their payment providers.
  • Each trade pays a fee, shown before you place an order. When the price is paid in money, both traders' shares are taken from the game currency, because we never hold the money. Part of every fee is burned (destroyed for good) and the rest is our income; Groot Swap page shows the current fee and how much of it is burned. An ad keeps the fee that applied when it was posted.
  • A seller releases only once the money is in their own account, and a buyer marks an order paid only after really paying, to the account the order shows. Trade only inside an order: we cannot help with anything agreed or paid outside one.
  • If an order goes wrong, open a dispute. Our staff read the order and its chat, may ask for proof of payment, and decide whether the currency goes to the buyer or back to the seller. An unpaid order is cancelled when its time runs out, and leaving orders unpaid again and again pauses your trading.
  • Do not use Groot Swap for fraud, to move money for someone else, to trade currency gained by cheating or taken from another player, or for anything illegal. We can pause or close your trading, hold the currency of the orders involved while we look into it, take back what cheating gained, and report to the authorities when the law requires.
  • Players set the prices. Game currencies and CELL are not investments, their price can fall to nothing, and there may not always be someone to trade with. Currency you buy stays under its game's rules, including rebalances and resets. You are responsible for any tax on what you earn from trading.
  • We can pause trading, deposits or withdrawals, for example for maintenance or security. Your balance stays yours while we do. If a game leaves Groot Swap or closes, we will give notice where we reasonably can, so you can withdraw its currency first.

7. Our games and services

Our games are free to play and many are in beta. We work to keep them running, but we cannot promise they are always available or free of bugs, and we may change, pause or stop a game or feature. We will give notice before we close a game where we reasonably can.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your Groot ID at any time from the Security page; a parent can delete their child's from the Parents page. Anything open on Groot Swap (a balance, an order, an ad or a transfer) has to be settled first, so that nothing is left stranded. The Privacy Policy explains what deleting does.

If you break these terms or the law, or to protect other players, we can warn you, limit what you can do, suspend or close your account, or remove characters or items, depending on how serious it is. If you think we got it wrong, contact support and a person will look at it.

9. Responsibility

We provide Groot ID and our games as they are, for free. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using them, such as lost game progress or items, or anything other players do. On Groot Swap we are responsible for keeping the currency and CELL we hold safe and for moving it as the order says, but not for a payment made or received outside it, or for what a payment provider does. Nothing in these terms takes away rights the law gives you that cannot be taken away, such as your rights as a consumer.

10. Changes

We may update these terms as our games grow. We will update this page and its date, and the next time you sign in we show you what changed and ask you to agree before you go on. If you do not agree with a change, you can delete your Groot ID.

11. Contact

Questions about these terms: contact support.
